Home is not just a place, but a feeling. A feeling that you fit in and can be yourself. When I passed my real estate exams, I not only wanted to help people buy and sell homes, but I wanted to work with a company that had good integrity, reputation, experience, and where I'd feel at 'home.' While I was still in school for real estate, I started the process of looking at brokerages. I interviewed a few different companies...they interviewed me too, but I was definitely asking them questions as well, because it needs to be a partnership. Before I interviewed at Berkshire Hathaway, they all seemed pretty comparable. I'd have to pay for my training, start with cold calling and/or put in a group, and be at the office on a set schedule, which were things that didn't appeal to me. I was also broke, so the thought of paying for training, and also competing with my own principle broker made me uncomfortable. When I sat down with Sue Curths with Berkshire Hathaway, I immediately felt that sense of 'home.' It wasn't just about what I could do for them, but what they could do for me. Free training, endless open-door policy support from the principle brokers who I wouldn't compete with, marketing and technology support, and an office where I'd always be able to find an experienced broker to talk to and get advise from. It was an easy decision for me after meeting with Sue. Since passing the exam, I've enjoyed endless (free) continuing education classes, weekly staff meetings, and constant support from fellow brokers in the office, including helping them with their open houses which has resulted in finding new clients of my own multiple times. I'm grateful every day that I chose Berkshire Hathaway as my real estate 'home.'

I was working with another company and decided I needed more training as a new broker. I heard about Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices from another broker that I was working with on a transaction.
